Our School Philosophy
“Little Footprints al Futuro Preschool” offers morning and afternoon programs for children aged 3 and 4. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving, fun learning environment. We want our little learners to feel secure and comfortable just like they do at home with their family and friends.
Our preschool will be play based as well as academic/structured. Through a mixture of guided and undirected creative play, children in our preschool will have the opportunity to learn about color, shapes, textures, numbers, letters, animals, seasons, feelings, senses, nutrition, personal hygiene, manners, basic science and math concepts, and creative concepts such as “pretend” play, art, music, drama, and dance. These are all things that most preschoolers are able to learn through creative, educational play. Each child will be allowed to learn at his/her own pace. We will not force a child to achieve developmental milestones. There will never be pressure on a child to learn something faster than he/she is able to. This will be based on a balance of a bilingual environment, 50% English, 50% Spanish.
Play based/self directed involves student centers, which help with social skills, cooperation with others, and also stimulates the brain. Circle time will be the academic time where we are learning about specific things in a more structured way.
Our focus will be on our preschoolers becoming learners, learning through play and direction, one skill at a time. We want our little learners to have a foundation for an easier transition into kindergarten.
Our mission is to provide every child with a quality early childhood experience. We strive to create a fun, safe, loving learning environment, which fosters individual needs and covers many different learning styles. We hope that our parents view their child’s education as a partnership between them and us. We believe it is essential to develop a good rapport with each child and parent based on open communication and mutual respect. We believe in empowering children by offering them opportunities. It is our goal that children will develop confidence in their abilities and make lasting relationships with teachers and peers. By offering an engaging curriculum and ample choice, it is our hope that each child will develop a positive outlook towards school, a better appreciation of the world around them and acquire a life long love for learning during their time spent at Little Footprints al Preschool.
Meet the Teacher -profesora
Hola y bienvenida everyone!
I am very pleased to say I am the owner of “Little Footprints al futuro Preschool Inc.” This has been a dream of mine for a very long time and I am excited that it has finally evolved. I have been a Spanish teacher for the past 16 years at Springbank Community High School, teaching Spanish as a second language. I believe in any second language but I am proud to say that Spanish is my love. I also speak French and German all of which are second languages for me and of course English being my mother tongue.
I am a wife to my lovely husband Mike, we have been married 11 years and we have 3 wonderful children; Karson who is 12, Kyanna who is 10 and Nate who is 9. We are so proud of them and they also speak Spanish as they are a part of the CBE Spanish Bilingual Program.
My passions are being a mom and wife, teaching and travelling. I adore little kids and seeing life through their eyes. I am so excited for this opportunity; I love being around kids, kids of all ages. Each age and level is unique in its own way.
My promise is that I will do my best to meet the needs of each of my students and that I will take care of them while they are in my care. I also promise to teach them the basics of English and Spanish that are age appropriate that will hopefully help them transition into real school more smoothly.
Thank you for trusting me with your child; it will be fun for us all. If at any point you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Communication is key in the success of our little people.
